THE men from Maghera Power Lifting Club will be taking on a heavy challenge this weekend when they compete in the Northern Ireland Strongest Man Pairs on Saturday (November 17)

The competitors all set for the event at Meadowbank Sports Arena include the men from the Maghera Power Lifting Club as well as others from all over Northern Ireland.

Lifters will include Ireland’s junior champion 2 x 105’s strongest man, Ulster’s current winner, Dave Warmer former WSM and many other competitors who will also be taking the strain.

These men will perform six gruelling events, battling it out to see which pair becomes Northern Ireland’s strongest.

The promoter Denver McGuckin said this promises to be a great day out for all the family, and one not to be missed.

There will be a range of activities to keep all ages amused, with bouncy castles and children’s entertainment.

Everyone is encouraged to come along and support Charis Cancer as well as getting behind the strong men.

The events start at 12.30pm.
