The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the death of a man on a farm between Dungannon and Moy yesterday afternoon (Sunday, September 11).

It is understood the man, who is reported to have been in his 30s, died after becoming trapped in machinery at around 2pm.

A spokesperson for HSENI said: “HSENI is investigating a fatal incident on a farm in the Dungannon area.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this most difficult time.”

Ulster Farmers’ Union President Barclay Bell said: “I wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the family at this time.

“It is a sad reminder that farms are busy workplaces, that can sometimes be dangerous.

“Farm safety continues to be a important issue across the industry and I would urge all farming families to re-double their efforts to stay farm safe following this tragic accident.”
