PEOPLE travelled from all over the country to be in Bellaghy to witness the burial of Seamus Heaney.

Many brought with them their favourite poetry collection and, as the sun shone brightly in the sky, read poems while waiting for the arrival of the funeral cortege from Dublin.

Sitting in the September sunshine they ponder on 'Wintering Out' by Seamus Heaney as they await the arrival of his funeral cortge to Bellaghy graveyard. INMM3614-209ar.

Our chief photographer, Adrian Robinson, was there to capture in pictures this sad occasion.
