The Annual Church Parade and Services of the Mid-Ulster Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade was held inStewartstown on Palm Sunday, April 13.

The breezy afternoon was further brightened with the presence of Tamlaghtmore Silver Band and Newmills Silver Band accompanying the various companies within the Mid-Ulster Battalion.

The Battalion Colour Party, made up from boys from 1st followed by Officers, Company Colours and the boys from the Company Section.

1st Company provided the Colour Party for the Junior Section, who was in turn followed by the boys and Officers.

Rev. Andrew Rawding (Chaplain of 1stSection at St Patrick’s Church, Donaghendry Parish, and Rev. Ivan Ferris conducted the Junior Section service at 1st Missionary Fund.

The Christian Education Shield, Cups and Certificates were presented at the Company Section service.

In Grade 1, Nathan Quigley (1stplace, second place was awarded to Gareth Stewart (1stand third place to Jason Scott (1stfirst place, second place was awarded to Matthew Young (1stCurrie (1stplace was awarded to Thomas Armour (1st Grade 4 John Porter (1stplace, and third place was awarded to Jack Wilson (1stoverall Companies, with 1st Castledawson were awarded third.

Mr. Trevor Stewart (Battalion President) took the Salute in front of the Cenotaph in the Square on the return march. The following Battalion Officials accompanied him: Mr. Ian McCullough (Battalion Vice-President), Mrs. Helen Farley (Battalion Secretary), Mr. James Thompson (Battalion Treasurer), Mr. Jim Thornberry (Brigade Executive) and Mr. Walter Mullan (Battalion Hon. Vice-President), with Rev. Ivan Ferris also being present.

Before the Colours were marched off and the Battalion dismissed, Tamlaghtmore Silver Band played the National Anthem. Thanks are given to all those who helped with the parade and those who took part, including the PSNI for their assistance. with the Junior and Company Sections attending.
