Police confirmed to the TIMES that they believe the fire was started deliberately.

Two Appliances from Cookstown and one Appliance from Dungannon Fire Station attended the fire in the first floor flat. The fire was out on arrival of Crews.

A working smoke alarm alerted a passer-by to the fire who managed to assist the occupants, a male in his 40’s and female in her 20’s to safety. Both were treated at the scene by Ambulance Personnel for mild smoke inhalation.
