Cookstown District Council are seeking to hold an urgent meeting with the STC and Executive committee over the delays to the new Community Safety College at Desertcreat.

UUP Councillor Trevor Wilson proposed the notice of motion at Tuesday night’s monthly council meeting, which all members agreed upon.

Cllr Wilson said the constant delays were ‘nothing short of scandalous’ and the council should seek a cross-party meeting at the earliest opportunity.

Cllrs McNamee, Quinn, McGarvey and Buchanan also expressed their concerns at the delays, with Cllr McNamee stating he felt the council have been made to look ‘very silly’ by the delays especially with the tendering event they ran in the Glenavon Hotel.
