COAGH Sports Centre has successfully secured funding from Cookstown District Council through the EU’s Programme for Peace and Reconciliation (PEACE III) which is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body to deliver an outreach programme in the local district.
Through the programme the centre will deliver various projects that will aim to promote the centre and its activities to the entire community.
The Centre plans to deliver training courses such as First Aid, Designated Officer and Child Protection.
The courses will begin on Monday 4th February, in Coagh Sports Centre and are open to any sporting or youth group/organisation from the district.
The centre also plans to deliver various soccer programmes over the year which aims to encourage more young people to get involved with the sport.
The centre will be working with the IFA Grass Roots Development Officer and Cookstown District Council’s Active Communities Coaches to deliver the worthwhile programme.
