Missing German tourist may have been in Draperstown area

Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing female German tourist who was last seen in the Gortin area of Omagh on Thursday, 31 July.

The woman had arrived at the Community Centre in Gortin and stated that was going to the An Creggan Centre with the intention of going to Dunamore area to camp overnight. She was due to return to the Community Centre in Gortin on Friday, however she failed to return.

She is described as being between 65/70 years old with shoulder length white hair with a fringe and of slim build. She was carrying a backpack and a plastic bag .

This lady may have been in the Dunamore and Draperstown areas on the morning of Friday, 1 August.

Police would ask anyone who may know of her whereabouts to contact them at Omagh on the non emergency number 101.

It is understood the North West Mountain Rescue Team are involved in the search.
