The MS Society Mid-Ulster branch would like to invite others living in the local area with the condition to get involved with the society.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults and an estimated 4,000 in Northern Ireland have MS, one of the highest rates in the world.

The MS Society Mid-Ulster branch, provide support for local people affected by the condition, as well as their families and carers.

Support Group meetings take place on 2nd Tuesday of month at Magherafelt Day Centre and there is a Lunch get-together on 2nd Friday of the month at Magherafelt Parish Centre. All are welcome to these informal meetings, to enjoy a chat and an activity.

During MS week (28 April- 4 May), we as members of MS Society, Northern Ireland as a whole, are asking for support, to call upon health professionals and those in government. This is to achieve the right care at the right time, regular hospital reviews and equal access to services and new treatments.

We have 60 members approximately in our branch and many people living with MS in the area, who do not belong to an MS support organisation.

This is quite a few who have the condition locally.

The Mid-Ulster branch also offers local services including one to one support, reflexology and some financial assistance for everyone affected by MS in the area.

To contact the branch or enquire about these services please call 07856097917.
