PSNI warning after Magherafelt cemetery handbag thefts

Police in Magherafelt are advising local people not to leave handbags or other valuables in unattended cars.

On Saturday afternoon, a woman left a handbag in a car at Polepatrick Cemetery while she took her dog for a walk. On returning she found it had been stolen.

Meanwhile, a handbag was stolen from a car at Milltown Graveyard, Castledawson Road, Magherafelt on Saturday.

And on Sunday, a woman left her vehicle in the car park near Fishermans Walk, Portglenone, and found on return that a window had been smashed and the bag stolen.

Information on any of the incidents can be given on the police non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, it can be provided to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
