Expressing his disgust, Mr Frazer told the MAIL today that several people have been in contact with him about the “continued defacing of signs” in the area.
“This not only looks unappealing to visitors passing through the area but - make no mistake about it - is a form of intimidation and marking out of territory,” he said.
“Ironically those doing it are the same type of people who would call for the removal of Union flags which they wrongly say are marking out territory.
“But there is a big difference in legally flying your country’s flag and wrecking a road sign which is a criminal offence.
“Road signs are there for the benefit of absolutely everyone especially those who are visiting our country.”
