A third person has been killed on Mid Ulster roads, within a matter of days.
On Thursday, police confirmed that 23-year-old Leanne Dripps from the Upperlands area of Maghera died following a two vehicle road traffic collision on the Agivey Road in Kilrea at around 8.15am.
“Officers would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Agivey Road around the time of the collision to contact them at the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station on the new non-emergency number 101,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
A spokeswoman for Optimum Care, of which Leanne was an employee, said they were devastated by the loss.
“We were all devastated to learn today of the untimely death of Leanne Dripps,” the spokeswoman told the News Letter.
“Leanne was a dedicated and caring person with a lively sense of humour and will be deeply missed by colleagues and clients alike.
“At this time we want to extend our sincere condolences to her mother, brother, sister and extended family on their loss. She will be missed by us all.”
This tragedy comes just days after two young men were killed near Cookstown.
