15,000 pills found by post office

ALMOST 15,000 prescription pills including viagra and tamoxifin have been discovered in a Tyrone post office, according to Dungannon police.

Staff at Cookstown Post Office reported the find after one of three packages addressed to a house in the town burst in the shorting office, spilling out white tablets on the morning of August 29.

Dungannon officers were tasked to the scene and found 14,800 circular white pills in total.

Amongst the finds were 100 boxes of suspected tamoxifen, which is used to combat breast cancer, and 20 viagra tablets.

“We gather that these types of drugs have been abused by bodybuilders,” said Inspector Stephen Moneypenny. “We have no street value yet as these are not your normal illicit street drug.”

One 31-year-old male from Moneymore has been arrested for possession of a class C drug with intent to supply. He denies the charges and has been bailed to October 6.
