A29 station is forecourt finalist

THE popular A29 service station in Cookstown has made it through to the final of Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer Awards 2012.

The A29 on the Dungannon Road at Cookstown is among 44 finalists and is now set to battle it out at the seventh annual awards, supported by platinum sponsor PostPoint.

Hosted by TV3’s Sinead Desmond and the focal point of the retail calendar, these industry awards will take place at Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel on Friday, September 7 – where 14 category winners will be revealed before the overall winner is crowned Ireland’s Forecourt Retailer of the Year 2012.

The 450 individual award entries received from throughout Ireland were whittled down to 44 following rigorous judging by mystery shop specialists Spotcheck. Reaching the final of these awards signifies a major achievement for independent retailers, symbol groups and oil companies.

Bill Penton, publisher, Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer said he was delighted with the calibre of entries.

“Now in their seventh year, the IFCR Awards continue to grow. They are a fantastic example of how Ireland’s forecourt and convenience retailers continue to play a vital role in their communities and set industry standards higher each year,” he said.

And he expressed the best of luck to all the finalists.
