Another mugging in Magherafelt

THERE has been a second mugging in Magherafelt within a few weeks.

Police are appealing for information after a 61-year-old man was assaulted on Friday (June 8).

At around 11.30pm as the man was walking along Parkmore, he was attacked by two people from behind, believed to be males. They knocked him to the floor and tried to steal from him but were disturbed when a car drove by and sounded the horn. The assailants ran off.

On May 20, a 36-year-old man was attacked from behind while he walked in the Sperrin area of the town.
