Blunt warning follows theft from car

“DO NOT leave handbags or any other valuables in unattended cars!”

That was the blunt advice from police following a theft in the Dungannon area.

On Tuesday evening, police received reports that handbags had been stolen from two cars parked at a care home in the town.

They were later recovered at Garvagh Road, Donaghmore, but money had been taken from them.

Inspector Keith Jamieson, the sector commander, said: “Handbags, wallets or other valuables should never be left in unattended cars, even if you think they are well out of sight.

“Always take your valuables with you when you are out visiting, or even attending a church service.”
