Cannabis find ‘deeply shocking’

MAGHERAFELT Sinn Fein councillor Deborah Ní Shiadhail welcomed the seizure of cannabis in the town.

“This massive seizure is to be very much welcomed. It is deeply shocking when one considers the significance of the amount of cannabis seized in this instance. It is such a relief to see it taken out of our community and off our streets,” she said.

“Those criminals and drug dealers responsible can provide no moral justification whatsoever for this type of criminality. Their on-going targeting of young and vulnerable people is to be deplored. No community should have to tolerate this type of activity occuring in their midst.

“This seizure shows the need for people to be vigilant as this is the second major find in Magherafelt in recent months and we must continue to ensure that our young people are kept safe and our communities not further plagued by these criminals.”
