Cookstown Baptist Church induct new Pastor

A NEW chapter in the life of Cookstown Baptist Church commenced on Friday 9th November 2012, with the induction of a new Pastor,

Mr Gareth Bell, was inducted as the new Pastor following a decision at a recent members meeting. The church was filled to capacity by church members, family and friends to witness this memorable night.

Gareth is originally from the Castlereagh area of East Belfast. When he left school Gareth went on to attain an honours degree in Business Management from Queens University, followed by employment as a project team leader with the Ulster Bank.

However, as a committed christian Gareth soon became aware of God’s clear guidance leading him into full time ministry, and in September 2009 following much prayer Gareth enrolled on the Preparation for Ministry course at the Irish Baptist College in Moira.

Gareth successfully graduated in June 2012 with a diploma in Ministry Studies and a further Bachelor of Theology Degree, and is now looking forward to taking up the role of Pastor of the local Baptist Church in Cookstown and getting to know the people of the area.

During his time in Bible College Gareth met his fiancee, Nicole Menary and they look forward to their wedding next June.

The induction service was chaired by Pastor Harold Chambers (former pastor) and the Act of Induction was carried out by Pastor Edwin Ewart, Principal of the Irish Baptist College. The charge to Pastor and church was given by Pastor Alan Baird, Tutor at the College and was followed by greetings including Rev. Tom Greer from Molesworth Presbyterian Church.

The evening was brought to a completion by supper being provided by the ladies of the church.

The Baptist Church in the Burn Road in Cookstown extend a warm welcome to all to come and meet and hear Pastor Gareth Bell as he ministers God’s Word each Sunday at 11.00am and 7.00pm.

A detailed personal testimony from Gareth and further information on all our church activities can be found on our church website at www.cookstownbaptist.org where audio sermons from our new Pastor will also be available.
