Country fans in for a treat

IT'S just over three weeks until the third annual Country-Fest that will take place this year on Saturday July 31 and Sunday August 1 at the Clan- Ree Complex , Letterkenny Co. Donegal.

The complex is now a real stronghold for Country Music with a host of top acts like Kenny Rogers, George Jones, Randy Travis and Martina Mc Bride appearing in the town over the past few years making it Music City of Ireland.

This year’s Country Fest will see over 60 live acts performing on four live stages and great American acts like Gene Watson, Hal Ketchum, George Hamilton coupled with Ireland’s top stars like Mike Denver, Jimmy Buckley, Donegal native Margo who will officially open the festival. Declan Nerney and many more will make this a feast for all Country Music fans to enjoy. The event also gives a lot of great local talent a chance to shine and the likes of Tony Kerr, Frank Mc Caffrey, Carmel Mc Loughlin and Lisa McHugh are just some of the stars who will feature over the two days.

The festival will start each day at 1pm and will run until 11pm each night making that 40 hours of live Country Music per day.

There will be lots of traders on hand selling Country products as well as the acts who will be at the merchandising stands after each performance selling their CDs and signing autographs.

JW Promotions boss James Mc Garrity said, “This year’s event will be special as Donegal is steeped in Country Music tradition. It’s an area we have presented many country gigs in and they are always well supported. With the huge media around the event and the Buy One Get One Free tickets offer it will hopefully tick all the boxes for Country fans all over Ireland and further afield to attend.”

The Clan Ree complex is a change of venue from the Aura Complex due to logistical reasons with the large numbers attending and the on-site parking that is now available in the new location which is situated as you enter Letterkenny.

Tickets for the Country-Fest are “BUY 1 GET 1 FREE” priced at n40 per day and n70 per weekend with kids under 14 in free.

Tickets are available from www.jwpromos.com and ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
