Drugs worth £380,000 seized

POLICE in Magherafelt have seized a significant quantity of drugs and arrested a man aged 34, following a planned search in the Leckagh Drive area . A house was searched and a large quantity of class B Drugs were recovered.

Thirty-eight kilos of herbal cannabis at an estimated street value of £380,000 were seized. The suspected drugs will be sent for forensic examination. A large sum of cash was also seized during a subsequent vehicle search.

The Area Commander for Magherafelt, Chief Inspector Sam Donaldson said, “This is another brilliant success in the fight against drugs for the Magherafelt area. This seizure was as a result of information received from the public and I am extremely grateful to the community for their assistance in this investigation. I would also like to thank your local officers for their continued hard work in the pursuit of those engaged in drugs offences.”

“I can assure everyone that we are determined to tackle the issue of drugs and I urge anyone with information, no matter how small to report it to Police or anonymously through Crimestoppers.”
