Five arrested for festive drink-driving

FIVE men were arrested in the Magherafelt area for drink-driving in the run-up to Christmas.

PSNI area commander, Chief Inspector Sam Donaldson, expressed concern that some people are still choosing to drink and drive.

He said: “Whilst it’s good news that we are arresting people who are drink-driving, it is very worrying that some motorists still think it’s okay to drink and drive.

“My message is simple: never, ever drink and drive. If you are choose to drink and drive you will be caught and we will put you before the courts.”

The arrests were made between December 20 and Christmas Eve.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local neighbourhood officer on 0845 600 8000.
