Keylite staff raise £10K for NSPCC

NSPCC Northern Ireland has thanked staff and supporters of Keylite, Cookstown who raised a spectacular £10,000 through their recent Gold Challenge event.
Kind hearted staff ran and cycled 201.2 km in just one weekend through Tyrone, Armagh and County Down before completing their challenge at the Boucher Road, Belfast.
The Gold Challenge took place on September 8th and 9th.
John Duffin, Managing Director of Keylite, thanked all those who took part and donated towards the incredible challenge.
“Being part of this challenge was a great honour,” he said.
“We not only got to do something worthwhile for a fantastic cause, but we created great team spirit within Keylite and the Keystone Group.
“A lot of hard work and effort was put in by all but we reaped the rewards which would not have been possible without the valuable support from our builder merchants.
Mr Duffin added: “I would like to take this opportunity to say well done to everyone involved and thank you for your continued support.”
NSPCC fundraiser Claire Quigley said that £10,000 will make a real difference to families and children in Northern Ireland.
She said: “Between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2012, 10,798 calls were made to ChildLine from landlines in Northern Ireland. Such figures demonstrate just how much the Society’s work is needed today.
“Every child who is in danger or distress, and every adult who is worried or concerned about a child can easily access immediate help and advice through our national services – ChildLine and our adult Helpline – allowing us to identify and help children who are in danger.
Claire added: “We work directly with the most vulnerable children, finding better ways to protect them, preventing further abuse and helping them to recover. Without the support of individuals and organisations like Keylite, we could not continue our vital work. It is for this reason that we’re so incredibly grateful for this fantastic sum.”
