McCrea congrats for piper David

DUP Mid-Ulster MLA Ian McCrea has expressed his delight at the news that Maghera born Irish Guards Colour Sergeant David Rodgers has been chosen by Her Majesty the Queen to be her personal piper.

Ian McCrea said he was delighted to hear news of the post which he will hold for the next three years.

David was chosen to be the Royal piper at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton which was an honor in itself but to be chosen by the Queen is surely a personal achievement that most people could only dream of, said Mr McCrea.

“It is always great to hear that a soldier from Northern Ireland has been given an opportunity such as this and I have no doubt that David’s parents, family circle and the people of Mid-Ulster will be very proud of this tremendous achievement,” he added.
