McCrea welcomes opening of Women’s Aid office

DUP Mid Ulster MLA Ian McCrea has welcomed the opening by Women’s Aid of a new office in Magherafelt for women in the Magherafelt and Toome areas who are living with domestic violence.

“I was delighted to see the opening of the new Women’s Aid office at 46b Rainey Street, Magherafelt,” he said. “The new office is primarily based to provide help women who suffer from a domestic violence situation and to provide support such as safety planning, accompanying women to solicitors or courts, general housing advice, money management, information on benefits and informing women of the availability of other specialist services.

Michelle who will be the floating support worker can be contacted on 07841 204 540, or alternatively contact Cookstown & Dungannon Women’s Aid Resource Centre on 028 86769300.

“I long have been a support of Women’s Aid and support the need for both women and men who are victims of domestic abuse to come forward and speak out; no one should suffer in silence.”
