McGuigan welcomes relocation of Draperstown library
MAGHERAFELT Sinn Féin councillor, Brian McGuigan has welcomed the commencement of work at “the defunct Plantation Centre” in Draperstown which will ensure the relocation of the town’s library to more modern facilities.
Cllr. McGuigan said: “After an extensive campaign to save library services in Ballinascreen, I am very please to see that refurbishment work has commenced at the now defunct Plantation Centre for the purpose of relocating our local library to more modern premises.
“I am also pleased that our local social economy and enterprise organisation, The Workspace Group of which I am a director, is investing in the upgrade which will see Libraries NI lease the premises.
“Workspace are also advancing that DRIVE project which will see the refurbishment of the rest of the building so that it can enhance the provision of community services and faciilites in our local area.
“As a Sinn Féin elected representative, I intend to keep a strong focus on this project. I am glad to be playing my part alongside my party colleagues in advancing the process of renewal of towns and villages in rural communities.”
