McLean praises everyone who worked for ‘peaceful’ Twelfth

THE Chairman of Magherafelt District Council, Paul McLean has thanked everyone who made strenuous efforts leading up to and over the July celebrations, ensuring that everything was “dignified and peaceful within the district”.

“I personally visited as many family fun-days and bonfires sites as I could, and was pleased with the efforts being made on the ground by local communities to make these celebrations as family orientated and inclusive as possible,” said Councillor McLean.

“Whilst I appreciate that it would be impossible to appease everyone within the district this year in comparison to previous years went extremely well.

“I would also commend and congratulate the Tobermore Orange District for all their hard work and organisation in the week of events leading up to the Twelfth and on the Twelfth demonstration day. All those who gathered with us on the day, indeed, had a Glorious Twelfth and a great day’s celebration.”
