Men appear in court on fishing charges

TWO County Tyrone men have appeared before Dungannon Magistrates Court charged with fisheries offences.

Gerard Ryan of Ardboe Road, Coagh and Martin Hagan of Lakeview Cottages, Ardboe were separately found guilty of:

fishing by unlicenced and unfair means; possession of an unlicenced fishing engine; possession of fish of unlawful capture (salmon and trout); use of monofilament net; possession of trout of a size less than 35.5 cm/Possession of immature trout and taking coarse fish during the weekend closure.

Ryan was fined £1200. He was also ordered to pay costs of £720 and court costs of £10 – a total of £1930.

Hagan was fined £600. He was also ordered to pay costs of £720 and court costs of £10 – a total of £1330.
