Mum found with drugs at festival

A MOTHER-of-two was given a Conditional Discharge for 12 months when she appeared at Magherafelt Magistrates Court on drugs charges.

Coleen McGleenon (25), of Greenvale Park, Magherafelt, admitted possessing a small quantity of Ecstasy and herbal cannabis on July 23 last year.

A PPS lawyer said police were called when the drugs were discovered during a search of the defendant by security staff at the Glasgowbury Music Festival, Draperstown.

The lawyer said McGleenon told police the drugs were for her own personal use.

Defence barrister Eoghan Devlin said the defendant had sought help for her drug use and it had been very successful.

Mr Devlin added that there were no other outstanding matters and the defendant had no previous convictions.

District Judge Des Perry made an order for the destruction of the drugs.
