Oklahoma! auditions date announced

IT’S audition time again for Eglish Theatre Company, which has chosen the Broadway classic, Oklahoma! for this year’s production.

Auditions will take place on Sunday, January 13, at 3pm, and everyone is welcome to come along and try their hand at treading the boards.

The first musical written by the legendary duo Rogers and Hammerstein, Oklahoma! deservedly remains a classic.

Oklahoma! is bursting with all the music, comedy, pathos and romance that make great theatre.

A New York Times article described it as a show that changed the history of musical theatre.

Featuring great songs such, as Oh What A Beautiful Mornin’; I Cain’t Say No; People Will Say We’re in Love; and of course Oklahoma!, this multi-award winning musical is not to be missed!

Eglish Theatre Company (ETC) continue to grow in stature.

After successfully staging the first ever production of Elton John and Time Rice’s AIDA in this country in 2012, they are setting their sights on bringing their unique interpretation of this family favourite to The Market Place Theatre, Armagh, from May 1 to 5.

Auditions will be held in The Brantry Bard Cultural Centre, (BT70 1LT for SatNav users!) just outside Eglish.

There are lots of roles to be filled - principals and chorus; front of house; backstage and production management.

So if you fancy making a name for yourself, making sets, costumes or even just tea, come along and join in what promises to be one of ETC’s best shows yet.
