Power NI’s Quest for an energy saving champion

POWER NI, Northern Ireland’s leading energy supplier, has begun their Quest to find a new community energy saving champion, and the winner could be from Mid Ulster.

The winner will receive £10,000 to invest in the latest energy efficient measures for their local community.

Quest will see six selected community groups, clubs or voluntary organisations compete against each other in a bespoke ten-step energy saving programme. They will also receive help and funding from Power NI along the way.

Each of the six groups will begin the challenge together and the first group to the finish will win the £10,000 prize to invest in renewable technologies.

Throughout the challenge the six selected groups will benefit from a Power NI mentor and will learn how becoming more energy efficient can make a lasting difference in their local area.

Power NI’s project coordinator Neil Coleman said: “Power NI is delighted to be launching Quest, our new community project for 2013. Our aim is to educate and empower local communities in Northern Ireland to become more energy efficient and help residents and local businesses save on their energy bills.

“You don’t need to be experienced energy savers - we are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated groups and organisations that are up for the challenge! We would encourage everyone to come forward and complete the simple application form at www.powerni.co.uk/quest.”

Quest applications are open until 31st March 2013. To receive a postal application pack please contact 028 9068 5031 or e-mail energysaving@powerni.co.uk for more.
