St Patrick’s College students form Pioneer Club

AS a way of marking the ‘Year of Faith’, which runs from October 2012 to November 2013, St Patrick’s College pupils came together to form a Pioneer Club.

Father White from the local branch of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association (PTAA) was present in the school to celebrate Mass on Thursday 15th November.

There were over two hundred pupils in attendance, many of whom had their pioneer pins presented to them by Miss Elsie Devlin and Mrs Isabel Mc Aliskey of the Dungannon PTAA.

Those under the age of 14 received the Junior pin and those over 14 received their Youth pins. It was fitting that such a celebration should take place in a local school since this year also marks the 100th anniversary of the Dungannon branch of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association.
