Sympathy letter to be sent to family of fire victim

A LETTER of sympathy is to be sent to the family of David Major, the 59 year-old who died in a house fire tragedy.

Representatives at Cookstown District Council agreed to sent the letter at this month’s full council meeting.

Mr Major died in a blaze which broke out at his house in Cooke Crescent, Cookstown on December 22, 2012.

Mr Major’s elderly mother, Lily, managed to escape from the fire.

The letter, proposed by Vice-Chair of the council John McNamee, will be sent to Mr Major’s brother.
