Talking about therapy!

PEOPLE in Mid-Ulster who have been affected by suicide can come along to a therapy evening next week.

Living With Suicide is holding a session on homeopathic medicine and talking therapy in Ballinascreen GAC Club, Draperstown, on Tuesday (March 24) at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

The group has been in existence for around one year and consists of volunteers from the Moneymore, Ballinderry and Ballyronan areas - including qualified homeopath Eileen Marshall, all of whom bring their own area of expertise.

Based at the Manor House in Moneymore, Living With Suicide (LWS) aims to support people who have been bereaved through suicide or who are feeling suicidal, through offering a range of homeopathic medicines and other support mechanisms.

The Draperstown event will begin with an introduction to the volunteers, and after a talk by Eileen on homeopathic medicine, there will be an opportunity for a cup of tea and a chat.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome. For more information you can contract Bernie Donnelly on 078 7357 5789, Eileen Marshall on 078 5779 8364 or Bernie Wilkinson 077 9127 0677.

The group also runs its successful monthly drop-in centre on the second Wednesday of every month from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Manor House, and the treatment is free.

Mid-Ulster is one of the regions with the highest suicide rate and therefore it is appropriate that a vital service such as this is available to the people of the area.

Recently, an information session run by Cookstown and Magherafelt Volunteer Centre, was held in the Greenvale Hotel, Cookstown giving people access to support and information.

If you are affected by suicide you are welcome to come along to the event in Draperstown. Professionals are also at hand if you need to talk - contact the Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90 or Lifeline on 0808 808 8000.

Living With Suicide is the only group in Northern Ireland offering free homeopathic medicine to people who are feeling suicidal or have been bereaved through suicide.
