Three Spires enjoy annual camp

THE Three Spires Cub Pack in Magherafelt recently held their annual camp at Lorne, Holywood. Cubs had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities such as orienteering, climbing, hiking and outdoor cooking.

During the year, the Club meets every Monday evening and to date they have been involved in: a drumming workshop, a football tournament with other cub groups and learning how to make short animations.

They also met the famous adventurer and Chief Scout Bear Grylls! Lots more activities are being planned for the year ahead and they would love more volunteers to help support the young people and their work.

Three Spires also have Scout, Beaver and Squirrel colonies which meet on a Wednesday evening and there are lots of volunteering opportunities with them too!

Cheryl Gourley Squirrel leader with the club said, “Being part of Scouts has made me much more confident and taught me loads of different skills. There are so many challenges and I meet lots of people and learn lots from them as well”.

If you are interested in teaching, youth and community work, meeting new people, supporting a local group and having a great time then Scouts could be for you.
