Watercolours painting workshops in the frame

ANOTHER very successful series of watercolours painting workshops is currently underway at the Burnavon with a number of aspiring artists picking up their paintbrushes for the first time in years.

Led by artist and teacher George Gourley, 14 participants are being taken step by step through the process of creating their own paintings – and the results have been fantastic.

Cookstown Council Chairman, Councillor Tony Quinn took time to drop in on the group’s last session to see how things were going and was clearly impressed by what he found.

The painting workshops have been an on-going feature of the Arts and Culture Programme of Cookstown District Council for the past four years, and have been among the most consistently popular classes on offer.

Further workshops are planned for 2013, so keep an eye out details in the new Burnavon programme, which should arrive on your doorsteps before Christmas.

If you would like to find out more about these or any other workshops taking place at the Burnavon, contact Mary Crooks on 867 69949 option 4.
