Wilson takes DUP to task
ULSTER Unionist Chairman of the Councillor's Association Trevor Wilson has said the DUP's relaxed attitude to the murder of Paul Quinn stood in stark contrast to their previous attitude towards IRA crime.
In a statement Mr Wilson said: “The DUP’s low key response to the barbaric murder of Paul Quinn by IRA elements is yet another dramatic turnaround from a Party that would have pulled a government down if a Sinn Fein member MLA passed a cold on to someone.
“Now words like ‘corporate involvement’ have crept into the lexicon of the DUP to distinguish and separate out on-going IRA activity.
“As an Ulster Unionist I can well remember the previous hardline attitude of the DUP to having a party linked with murder and terrorism in government. Now that the ‘chuckle brother’ precedent has been established and their feet are collectively under the ministerial table and their hands are on the levers of power, such principles that formed the backbone of their policies have been rejected.
“This hypocricy will not be allowed to go un-noticed by Ulster Unionists.”
