A YOUNG South Derry man caught on CCTV spraying graffiti on a wall at Magherafelt’s bus station was given a one-month suspended jail sentence at the local Magistrates Court.
Gary Corr (22), of Parkmore Mews, Magherafelt, admitted causing criminal damage to the wall at Union Road Arcade on September 2 2012.
A PPS lawyer said the CCTV showed Corr spraying ‘F..t PSNI’ on the wall.
A defence barrister explained that the case had been adjourned for a year in order to monitor Corr’s behaviour, and he was happy to report that he had stayed out of trouble.
The lawyer said defendant had also paid £300 compensation to Translink in respect of the damaged wall.
Passing sentence, District Judge Des Perry remarked that this was defendant’s second conviction for criminal damage.
