Magherafelt public meeting to discuss ‘crisis’ in health service

Veteran hospital campaigner Harry Hutchinson claimed a province-wide campaign was required to tackle “the political strategy” by Health Trusts to dismantle the Health Service.

“The breakdown of the A/E department in the Royal Victoria Hospital shows A/E departments in the Proience are at crisis point,” said Mr Hutchinson. 

“A/E closures like the Mid-­Ulster Hospital have put intolerable pressure on the existing service left in Northern Ireland and it has an enormous bearing on patient care.

The meeting for Mid­-Ulster area is arranged for Brysons Bar, Garden Street, Magherafelt this Friday, starting 7pm.
