Man arrested in Feeney for being drunk in charge of horse

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a drink-driving offence with a difference – he is accused of being drunk in charge of a horse.

The arrest came about after police received information that two men got into a horse and trap near a public house at Feeney shortly after 10.30pm on Sunday.

They were stopped a short distance away and one of the men was arrested. He was later released pending further enquiries.
