Man to stand trial for burglary of house in Magherafelt

A man has been sent for trial on a series of burglary charges, including the theft of £8,000 in jewellery and cash from a house in Magherafelt.

Stephen Meneice (36), whose address was given as c/o Thompson House, Antrim Road, Belfast, was formally charged with stealing £300 in cash from a house on October 31 last, along with six similar charges.

He was also charged with causing criminal damage to a window in a property on the same date together with two similar charges.

The alleged offences happened in the Hazelbrook and Parkmore areas of Magherafelt between October 24 and November 3 last year.

Meneice, who is presently in custody for other matters, was returned for arraignment at Londonderry Crown Court, on August 26, when he appeared before Magherafelt Magistrates Court.
