McCrea delighted at response to Farmwatch event

MID-ULSTER DUP MLA Ian McCrea has expressed his delight at the overwhelming response to the Farmwatch event held at Coagh Sports Centre last Friday.

Speaking at the event, Ian McCrea said: “I am delight at the response by local farmers to the Farmwatch campaign which has been designed to give farmers that added edge in the fight against agri-crime.

“Having raised the issue of agri-crime at Stormont and the Policing Board, I felt it was important to organise an event to allow farmers the opportunity to avail of the free trailer marking and to sign up to Farmwatch.

Mr McCrea added: “Once preparation got under way for the event, I was overwhelmed by the interest expressed and soon found it was booked to capacity.

“I would like to thank the Cookstown Rural Neighbourhood Team for coming along and carrying out the trailer marking and I would like to thank all those who attended.

“Our farmers are a vital and integral part of our community and it is important to do all that we can to protect and maintain our Agri sector and I am happy that I could play some small part in that.”
