TWO Draperstown men escaped serious injury in a one-vehicle crash at Coleraine which left another man critically injured.

Both are believed to have been thrown out of the BMW car in the accident on the Quilly Road around 9.20pm on Friday.

One man was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut free by the Fire Service. They were all taken to the Causeway Hospital, Coleraine and one was later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital, where he is reported as being in a critical condition.

It is believed the men were being given a demonstration drive in the car which they were interested in buying.

One witness claimed the car collided with several concrete gate posts and a concrete drinking trough before ending up in a barley field.

Police are asking for anyone with information about the accident to contact Coleraine Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
