THIS year’s Annual Irish CE Convention will be a one-day event on Saturday, September 21 in Raffrey Presbyterian Church, between Saintfield and Killyleagh.

Every CE Union and CE Society in Mid-Ulster is asked to send delegates. Special events will be organised for all age groups including juniors, young people/young adults and seniors. Everyone will be very welcome at the Sservice at 7.30pm when Rev Drewe McConnell, Limavady will be installed as Irish CE Union President in succession to Mrs Gwen Carson, Ballyclare and formerly of Dunluce Presbyterian Church. Rev Scott Woodburn will be the main speaker and will speak on the theme, ‘Connected’. He grew up in a non-Christian home but his brother and he attended Church and Sunday school until they reached 16. He knew the Gospel and received a good grounding in the Scriptures but it wasn’t until he turned 18 that he came to faith. In his spare time he loves to spend time with his family, play PS3 and watch endless documentaries on the History channel. He has recently joined a gym and hopes that by the time he is 40 he will have become Ulster’s answer to George Clooney!
