A COALISLAND councillor has welcomed the anticipated arrival of up to 10,000 people for the Tyrone Fleadh this coming weekend.
Torrent representative for Sinn Fein, Cllr Joe O’Neill, also urged those attending the music and cultural showcase to behave “in a responsible and respectful manner”.
Cllr O’Neill continued: “I’m delighted that Coalisland has been chosen to host the upcoming Tyrone Fleadh which is due to take place this week and will host a number of events.
“I would like thank Dungannon council for painting and cleaning summer seats, bins and fences around the town to give the town a bit of a face lift.
“The fact that the Tyrone Fleadh is being hosted in Coalisland is a great achievement for the local committee and is testament to their hard work which is ongoing.
“This promises to be a fantastic five day event with up to 10,000 people to attend and I would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy it. I would also ask that everyone enjoy themselves in a responsible and respectful manner so that when this event is over it will be another positive good news story showcasing our town and what it has to offer. Good luck to all of the musicians who take part in all of the events.”
