Country music star Ritchie Remo is fast making a name for himself as one of the best known country music entertainers in Ireland and beyond.
With his own unique style of country music, Ritchie is a born entertainer and is sure to have you on your feet at any of his live shows.
Launching his new album at the Greenvale hotel at the end of this month with his Big Band, Ritchie took time out from writing some new material to speak to the TIMES about his new album and career so far.
Ritchie said: “The new album is called ‘Don’t look back’ and features eight original songs from myself and James (McGarrity)
“It’s a fresh sort of country vibe with my own style on it.”
Speaking about his love and passion for music, the Claudy man told the TIMES he doesn’t look on it as a job because he enjoys it so much.I’ve been performing for a long, time. I’ve been on the road under the Ritchie Remo name for around four years now but I was out with my father on the road for 19
“We would have done weddings and functions from I was about 14, so a long time. From when I was young, all I really wanted to do was music. For my 12th Birthday I got a guitar and that was the start of it then, by 14 I was out playing and I never looked back since. Every year goes by and you’re working harder and harder at it and becoming more dedicated to it.
“Whenever you do something you love it is different, it is not like a job for me, I enjoy it so much.”
Ritchie will be joined by some other well-known country stars on his album launch night in Cookstown on 30th January.
Special guest appearances on the night include Shauna McStravock, Lee Matthews and Hugo Duncan.
