A Ballyronan company has been scammed out of £5,500 after a conman used a stolen credit card to obtain goods.
And now, Sean Cassidy, Managing Director of Moss Tile and Bathroom Centre, is urging other businesses to be vigilant.
Speaking to the MAIL this week, he said the company was contacted from England by a man with a foreign accent, who claimed to be carrying out work for a contractor.
“I want to warn people in the area so they don’t become victims like I did. I lost over £5,000 and I think it’s important that business owners are vigilant,” said Mr Cassidy.
SDLP Mid Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone has pointed out that business owners must protect themselves from this type of scam.
