Man assaulted in Magherafelt car park: appeal

Police are hunting an assailant who attacked a man in Magherafelt over the weekend.

The 23-year-old victim was assaulted at around 11.10pm in the Queen Street/Rainey Street area.

The assailant was dressed in jeans and a white T-shirt.

The victim required hospital treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Constable Hugh Quinn said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact Magherafelt Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
