ULSTER Unionist Party Assembly Member for Mid-Ulster, Sandra Overend, has wished World Skills Competitors, Gary Greer and Phillip Glasgow good luck for the upcoming World Skills Competition, which will be held in Leipzig, Germany this week.
Sandra said, “I would like to wish Gary and Phillip all the best in their efforts to win gold medals at the World Skills Competition. This competition will see Gary and Phillip come up against the best young competitors in their respective fields from around the world, as they represent the United Kingdom. Both Phillip and Gary have worked extremely hard to get to this stage, and it great to have two young men from Cookstown representing the UK at this level. Northern Ireland has a large presence in the UK team, and I am happy to see that Mid-Ulster in itself is very well represented.”
Mrs Overend, who is the Ulster Unionist Party’s Spokesperson for Children and Young People, said, “I met Gary recently after he won a gold medal for Automotive Painting section at the UK Skills competition, and he told me of the work that he has done to get to this stage, and the hopes he has for the upcoming event in Leipzig. Both he and Phillip, who will be competing in the Carpentry section, have done extremely well to get to this stage, and I would once more like to wish them the best of luck for the event in Germany.”
