MID ULSTER Assembly members today welcomed the creation of 35 jobs in Maghera.
Furniture firm Specilist Joinery Group are creating the full time posts as part of a £3m investment.
Ulster Unionist Sandra Overend, who is also the her party’s spokesperson for the Economy, said: “This is fantastic news for Maghera district, and another success story for a Mid-Ulster company.
“Small and medium sized companies are the lifeblood of our economy in Northern Ireland, and to see a family business continue to thrive and grow is extremely positive. The creation of 35 new jobs with the opening of the new manufacturing facility is very welcome.
SDLP MLA Patsy McGlone also congratulated the company.
Mr McGlone who is the chair of the Enterprise Trade and Investment Committee at Stormont said, “I am delighted that this excellent family-run specialist joinery company is continuing to go from strength to strength and creating 35 full-time jobs for the people of Maghera.
“Since this specialist joinery group was founded by the O’Hagan family in 1988 it has been a real asset to the area, providing bespoke furniture for the construction sector.
“The company which already employs 77 people has been commissioned to work on projects across the world and is a real success story. We need many more companies like this, utilising local talent to achieve positive outcomes.
