Work on a new community building in Dungannon - part of a £7 million regeneration project - is expected to be finished in weeks.

Tenants, who will include South Tyrone Empowerment Programme (STEP), Willowbank and Beacon House, are due to be in place at the Beechvalley premises by early in the New Year.

The new building, which was scheduled for completion last month, has been a hot topic of conversation for many months now, as it cuts a dominating presence along the Railway Park area of the town.

It is part of the EARLS Project, which has seen Mid Ulster Council and STEP work in partnership to deliver £7 million of investment in Dungannon.

The project includes the new community building, the viewing tower and events space on Castle Hill and the new safe pathways and cycle routes around the town.

The project is funded under the European Peace III Shared Spaces Programme which is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
